Just Brakes in Phoenix, Arizona - I was wronged

I took my car to this location thinking that it would be in the hands of people that know what they are doing. after 600 dollars of work my car was still having the same problems. At just brakes they "remanufactured my calipers" they sold me hardware and they assured me that my problem would be fixed, it was all just a bunch of lies. I had to take it to a real shop, real mechanics that know what their doing. I saw, a sing that says ASE cert but I doubt that anyone in this shop is ASE cert. just brakes is just a scam. The guy there named Wes is a great *** artist. be aware, your 99.88 can turn into hundreds.

the guy in the white shirt at Just Brakes on speedway is a slim ball. I witnessed him yelling at one of his employees, it was very disappointing to hear something like this.

I will never ever go back to a just brakes.

Ripped off at Just Brakes

Do not take your vehicle to Just Breaks on Speedway in Tucson. The manager is a fast talking slime ball. I don't know much about breaks but when he told me the huge price, I asked if there was anywhere I could save some money. He said no and that everything was needed. Fine I said. that was at 5:00pm. I knew they would be closing soon but he said they would get it done that night. Two hours later I came back, still working, an hour after that, still working. I asked several times if I could just come back in the morning to pick up, but the manager was insistent that they would be finished soon. All in all it took 5 hours to put on four pads and grind two rotors. it was $850 dollars I feel taken advantage of, I'm sure now that I didn't need new calipers and probably more parts. At nearly 10 pm at night finally done, the manager has the nerve to try to up sell me on future maintenance and ask me to give him outstanding on everything on the comment card. Ridiculous! DO NOT GO HERE.

look calipers rarely go bad 90 percent of the time its the slide pins or hardware also just brakes does not rebuild calipers they reseal .. to properly rebuild a caliper the the caliper cylinders need to be honed , the slide pins replaced and it should come with new hard ware

just brakes charges 189. to rebuild (reseal)

a truly rebuilt caliper from napa usually runs 60 each sorry yall are being ripped off

OMG, we just took our car to Just Brakes for a $99 brake job and they told us we needed to replace our calipers to the tune of $362 and suggested we do about $200 more work. We stupidly agreed and then called our friend who is a mechanic who told us no way we should have to replace the calipers on our car.

We called them back within 10 min. and they told us it was too late, and they couldn't stop now. After an hour of arguing they reduced the price to $290.

When we were leaving they were telling someone else they needed calipers. A little too much of a coincidence don't you think?

Just Brakes Just Sucks!

I can tell you as a former employee that they dont care about their employees let alone your cars. After being injured I was asked to sign a volunatry resignation so I refused then I was told to pick up my tool box and get the *** out of here. Later I went to apply for state help and had to call the shop to verify I didnt work there and the lady was told " Oh, were just waiting for him to come back", such BS. Anything to pass the buck and not be responsible. All I can say is stay away from Just Brakes in Tempe Az because the manager is a fraud who knows nothing about cars and will sell you anything even if its not needed just to make a buck!

Has anyone ever gone to Just Brakes and gotten the advadvertised price of $99.99 without a hassle.

They tried to screw me for $800.00. I told them no just give me my car back.

Luckily a neighbor knew how replace the pads for less than $50. So I offered him another $50 on top.

Just Brakes are Crooks!

Update by user Oct 20, 2011

In addition to being dishonest about their prices and trying to do unnecessary work, they didnt even have a scanner to remove the maintenance required light that every other shop in town has, I should have gone to walmart! they are cheaper and even vacuum your vehicle. Just Brakes needs to purchase equipment because their prices reflect it, but their service does not!!!

I saw a commercial for Just Brakes announcing they had a $16 oil change so I called and they told me it was $18.88 so I figured that wasnt too bad and made an appointment. The guy at the counter told me it was $18.88 plus fees (which in the past at Reasonable Shops is a few dollars) I should have asked because their $18.88 oil change cost me $28.00 plus they tried to get me to agree to do unnecessary services on my vehicle. I will Not be going back, Ever! Don't waste your money at Just Brakes!!!

Hey ***, there is no scanner to turn off the maitenance light. The instructions are in your owners manual.

Second, nobody forced you to pay these fees.

Its 28.00 for an oil change, why are you complaining? Thats cheat as ***!!

Just Brakes in Phoenix, Arizona - Justbrakes attempted ripoff.

I had heard the radio ad for a $99.88 brake job for years. When I received an email coupon for $50 off I took my minivan in to the San Mateo Blvd. Albuquerque, NM location for service. Justbrakes $99.88 brake job is now $199.88. Ok. With $50 off I figured it was still worth it. So, they performed an "inspection" of my brake system and with all the "problems" they found, my tab came to over $500. I said "No thanks" and bought new pads and shoes at NAPA for about $45 and, with the help of son, did the job myself. I just wished I had checked this site and read all the reports from other dissatisfied customers before I went to Justbrakes.

Just Brakes in Phoenix, Arizona - Rood Liars

Horrible service, false information, thieves and liars! I visited Just Brakes on Ellsworth/Guadalupe Mesa , Arizona and they are a bunch of ***-ARTISTS. Might I add I NEVER got any work done that day at Just Brakes, I will NEVER go back and I MEAN NEVER!!!! I found out nothing was really wrong with my brakes by Hyundai, but Just Brakes said that my wear and tear on my pads were abnormal, my hardware needed to be REPLACED(lol), and then to top it all off when I drove off I had to come right back because now there's a NEW noise and even then on my way to Hyundai I still heard the *** noise. While waiting for the second time at Just Brakes, I asked about the tires throwing off the balance of the car and was told "Taking off tires and putting them back on doesn't throw the balance off"! Later I found out actually IF YOU DON'T PUT THE TIRES IN THE SAME PLACE(front left/back left) IT WILL THROW OFF THE BALANCE. So now the manager says to me that the wheel stud is stripped (all of the sudden) and it would take 2 hours to replace(which by the way took Hyundai 10 minutes!!). The manager made it seem as though they didn't strip one of the bolts themselves, yet the first time I left Just Brakes they were able to get the nut on just fine, now all the sudden I need to replace the wheel stud because it's NOW STIPPED. I also found that I don't need to REPLACE the HARDWARE, and that they can be cleaned and work good as new, the wear and tear on my pads are NORMAL, the bolt was ruined because they did NOT USE THE PROPER TOOL WHICH STOPS the nut at the proper tension so that the bolt doesn't get stripped. So when these guys think showing you the bad on your car that's their way of scaring you into buying *** you don't need (especially the people that don't know *** about cars!!).

Just Brakes in Phoenix, Arizona - 2nd and last time I get ripped by Just Aches.

I had the whole $99 quote twice. Waited an hour and received a second quote. You need new calipers, new tabs for the calipers, new blah$ blah$ blah$. The first time I went to Just brakes, was in a 2000 Dodge Avenger. Brakes went bad on me after 3 months. They told me that I didn't know how to drive or stop my car correctly. That was why their faulty cheap brakes and calipers were wearing improperly. My warranty was null and void because I talked him down from $675.00 to $600.00 and kept my old brake clips. Payed $175.00 at brake stop and never had the problem again. Second time was in my Ford Focus. Both were at 7th st. and camelback Phoenix az. After the second time my second estimate was given to me at$600.00 range, the manager had the never to drop my bill in half if I gave him my Oakley sunglasses he found IN THE CAR. wow This was 4 months ago. I have new sunglasses and squeaky brakes. Jonathan

Scottsdale Just Brakes almost killed me!

I took my truck in for the $99 special. I get a call 4 hours later telling me i need $600 worth of work. I told them just do the pads and replace cracked caliper for $200. I leave and am driving down Rt 51 when I hear a loud banging, I pull over to look and 3 out of 4 tires had the lug nuts about to fall off. They apologized and "looked" at it. The aluminum rims are now with oblong holes and the truck shakes- the battle with them begins Do not go to just for brakes or it might lead to a trip to the hospital!
